This yak bone mala has been dyed a dark black color. Each individual traditional Tibetan bead contains either coral and turquoise chips or inlaid brass, and is entirely unique. It can be worn as a necklace or wrapped bracelet.
A note about bone beads: Tibetan nomadic life is hard, and in the cold there is little to eat. Water buffalo is a main staple in Nepal and Tibet and when an animal is used for food nothing is wasted. These amazing bone beads are hand inlaid by artisans who recycle and reuse everything in daily life and spiritual practice.
Mala measures approximately 34 inches around. Beads are about 10mm. Handmade in Kathmandu, Nepal.
